Nickel Alloy Castings

- Monel castings
-CZ100
-Hastelloy
-Inconel

Manufacturing Facilities
Deffree - Manufacturers of Nickel alloy castings (Monel castings, CZ100, Hastelloy, Inconel)
Molding
The molding section is equipped with muller and shell molding machine to make hand molded CO2 moldings, shell molds and airset molding. The molding is done as per methoding and all the Nickel alloy castings (Monel castings, CZ100, Inconel, Hastelloy) are poured with ceramic foam filters and insulating sleeves.
Mold Closing
Melting & Pouring
A medium frequency 100KW induction furnace with 100 kg, 150 kg and 300 kg furnaces is used to melt nickel alloys lined with magnesia (basic ramming mass). The 100 kg furnace is a graphite crucible lift swing furnace.
Melting Pouring
Fettling
The fettling area is equipped with cut-off wheel machine, welding machine, bandsaw machine, grinders and shot blasting machine of 300 kg capacity. All the castings are shotblasted to remove the adhering sand before it is sent for heat treatment / machining.
Shot Blasting
Heat Treatment Top
An electrical resistance type (1 m x 1 m x 1 m cabin size with Kanthal AF coils) is used to raise the temperature upto 1230° C max with quenching tank.
Heat Treatment Furnace
Machining
The company has set up, isolated conventional machine shops to perform the machining operations. Any CNC machining requirements are met by subcontracting the same.
Material Handling
An overhead crane is used to handle the molten metal and molds. This crane can handle upto 1 tonne capacity.
Quality Control
Deffree Engineering uses:
Hardness Tester To check HRB, HRC and BHN
Dip type pyrometer To measure molten metal temperature
Baume meter To check viscosity of sodium silicate
Optical emission vacuum type spectrometer An ARL 3460 Swiss make machine to check chemical composition of nickel base, copper base and iron base alloys Spectrometer
Universal testing machine A 40-ton capacity machine to test tensile strength, yield strength, elongation etc. Universal Testing Machine
Dye penetration kit To check for the surface defects
Dimensional check A set of calibrated measuring instruments to check the casting dimensions
Mold test A hardness tester is used to check the hardness of the molds
Subcontracting activities
The company has tied up with approved contractors to handle:
Radiography
Pattern making
CNC machining
Electrical Power Supply
A grid power supply of 200 KW is used for the power requirements and a standby diesel generator of 160 KW is used to continue operations in case of a power outage.
